10 Things Tuesday: Whirled News and Failed Falafal!

Just thought I would share some of favorites from around the internet and my life this week!DSCF45741. I could totally relate to this post by Kludgy Mom about How to Write and Promote a Blog Post. It’s a bit of a long post, but I was laughing the whole way through! Since when did social media get so complicated?
2. Now that warmer weather has been making an appearance here in Chicago, I am craving more salads! I loved this collection of 5 salads in under 5 minutes from I Heart Vegetables.
3. I am loving my new clothes from Stitch Fix! If you haven’t tried out this service yet, you definitely need to! I am not very good at shopping for clothes, so I was excited to hear about this website where you can sign up to have someone shop for you. For a small fee, they will send you 5 items they think will fit your style. Of the 5 items I received in my first package, I kept 3! This was one of two tops that I kept from this batch. 🙂DSCF4584
4. I participated in my first Pin-It Party this week! Lindsay from The Lean Green Bean Blog came up with the idea to help bloggers share some of their favorite pin-worthy posts. Check out my 5 Pin-Worthy Recipes in case you missed it!
5. We tried to make falafal at home last week but it failed miserably! Ha. For some reason, the patties just dissolved in the oil when we tried frying them. It was still delicious though. Has anyone else had that problem?DSCF4570
6. Popcorn has become a go-to snack for me lately now that I figured out how to make it from plain kernels rather than the microwave bag. This recipe for Coconut Almond Caramel Corn from Shutterbean has me drooling!
7. I discovered a great new workout website this week, bexlife.com. I can’t wait to try out this flatter, fitter abs in 5 minutes workout!
8. I really want to try making my own homemade nut butter. This vanilla cashew butter from Fit Foodie Finds looks yummy!
9. This creamy squash curry quinoa from Pinch of Yum is a blend of some of my favorite foods! I am a sucker for anything with butternut squash. I will definitely be trying this new recipe this week!
10. This weekend, Will and I went to an improv show called Whirled News at the IO Theater. It was definitely the best show we have seen since we’ve moved to Chicago! The premise of this show was that the actors would improvise on articles from current newspapers chosen by the audience members! They ended up doing sketches on both of the articles we picked!
Did you do anything fun and exciting this weekend?
